Frosted Hot Spot
This daylily comes from a cross of my introduction 'Annapolis Valley Mountains' as the pod parent crossed with Curt Hanson's 'Rock Lobster'. Since both parents had sculpting in the flower, I was hoping that some of the offspring would exhibit this trait as well. I was rewarded with several seedlings with sculpted flowers and I finally settled on this one to register and introduce. I love the beautifull clear colour. The flower sculpting is more evident for the beginning and middle of the bloom cycle. Nevertheless, the flowers are a beautiful cherry red with white edges and white midribs above a yellow throat throughout the bloom season. The scapes have 3-4 way branching and an average bud count of 18. If you want to get your dayliliy season started with a standout daylily, this early-midseason bloomer will do the job. Provide some white or yellow flowers near it and you will have a winning floral combination. 'Frosted Hot Spot' added to your garden will keep you smiling for several weeks of daylily bloom. $58.00 DF (Double Fan)
