This cross between 'Spirit Zone'and 'Carpet Bagger' is a beautiful peach self with a large wine/rose lightly feathered eye on the petals and a matching outline on the sepals. There is a narrow wine/rose edge on the petals, starting in the throat and then morphing to a golden edge further out on the petals. There are fairly heavy ruffles on the petals with lighter ruffles on the sepals. The flower has a green throat fading to yellow and then melding to gold and rose, as it extends outward into the eye. This plant has been my favorite seedling over the past couple of years. It is an early morning opener even on cool mornings. I get tired of purchasing daylilies that do not always perform well in my climate, so I am happy to say that I cannot recall seeing it ever open poorly. Additionally, it looks great at any time of the day. It has a fairly high bud count of 20 and 3-4 way branching. $24 (Double fan) It is named to honour my friend and prominent Atlantic Canadian plant writer, Jodi DeLong.
