This unique sculpted daylily is pleated along the midribs.  It is a single flower form that is a dark red self.  Deep within the throat it is slightly green which changes to a bright golden yellow as it expands in a starburst fashion out onto the midribs of the sepals and petals.  Large raised, sculpted (pleated), golden ridges on either side of the midribs, extend out 3/4 of the length of the petals, where the pigment changes to red and the sculpting flares outward several cm further.  There is ruffling around the petals and to some degree on the sepals.  A narrow golden, wire-edge is visible on the sepals.  The plant exhibits 3-4 way branching and has an average of 13 buds.  The pod parent is 'Ruby Spider' crossd with 'Purple Badger'.  The pleated ridges remind me of the north and south mountains where I grew up in the Annapolis Valley and inspired the name.  $20 Double Fan (DF)
